The Rotary Clubs of Christchurch and & Boscombe & Southbourne launch the Christchurch River Pageant 2025 which takes place on 16th August and will be a fabulous fundraising event featuring a parade of decorated floats – boats, canoes, SUPs, homemade rafts and more – along the Stour river in Christchurch.
The theme for the fancy dress is Christchurch’s rich and varied history – think smugglers, pirates…. The river pageant parade will be followed by team Dragon boat racing.
Money raised will go to 3 local charities, Hengistbury Head Outdoor Activity Centre and two local cancer charities, Bourne Water Dragons and Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon boat team.
The event will take place alongside the Christchurch Carnival.
So if you own a boat, are a canoeist or paddleboarder, or fancy making your own raft then come and join the pageant!
More information will be available soon.
Come and join us, either on the water or as a spectator!
Starting point Tuckton Tea Gardens with finish line at Christchurch Town Quay
Please register your interest in taking part, early registration will allow us to plan for numbers and the type of craft taking part, we will of course contact you with full details in good time before the event. Pre-registration also will speed up things on the day, as we will already have your details on file, and you will only need to sign in.
We are looking for donations per entry to be made on the day and we are suggesting £5 per single person craft (SUP, Canoe etc) and £10 for other types of craft.
We are raising funds for three fantastic local charities so please give generously.
Don't forget the theme is fancy dress, inspired by Christchurch's long history so think Smugglers and Pirates!
