Get Involved with HHO

The Many Ways To Show Your Support

Hengistbury Head Outdoors has been created for the community to reopen the centre so it can be used by the community.

We are working closely with BCP Council to make this a reality and there are a number of ways in which you can show your support and get involved if you would like to.

  • Social Media .... Simply follow our journey.
  • Be a Supporter .... Join our supporter newsletter and be invited to attend the supporters meetings.
  • Donate .... Fundraising from the community will be vital to the success of the centre.
  • Become a society member by buying a Member Share .... Become a share holding member of the HHO Community Benefit Society, and attend the AGM's and other shareholder meetings.
  • Business Support .... As well as support from the community we will also need support from the local business community and we'd love to hear how you could help us revitalise and run the centre.
  • Use the Centre! .... Unfortunately the centre is closed, but once we can we will reopen the centre and will let you know how you can use the facilities and activities.

Attend an event or offer to help out! We are now starting to attend events in the region and also looking to hold events specifically in aid of Hengistbury Head Outdoors. Come and say Hi or give us a hand.

Social Media

The easiest way to show your support is to follow our journey on social media, and like and comment on our posts.  That way we can show everyone how strong the community support is to get the centre open and operational again for years to come.

We are on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Just search for Hengistbury Head Outdoors on your favourite App and don't forget to share with your Friends!

Be A Supporter

If you would like to be a bit more informed, receive email updates and be the first to be invited to our informal Supporters meetings and events which are held every 2 or 3 months, then join up for our Supporters Newsletter.

That's the best way to stay up to date with our progress and hear first hand about our plans.

Just go to our 'Contact Us' page and join the list.

Make A Donation

We are seeking donations, from individuals and from organisations, which will help support our wider fundraising efforts and grant applications to re-establish the centre as a viable community hub.

You don't need to be a Supporter or hold a Member Share to make a donation, but its just a way of helping the society fund the running of the society and in the future the centre.

Just go to our Shares and Donations page and read more.

Be a Member Of The Society

As a Community Benefit Society we can offer membership of the society through the issue of a lifetime member share.

A Member share can be purchased for £10, which allows you to be directly involved as a member with the society and one individual member vote on the resolutions put to the society's members at the Annual General Meeting.

It is the most direct way of becoming actively involved with the running of the society.

Lifetime Members Shares are non-withdrawable and non-transferable.

Just go to our Shares and Donations page and read more.

Businesses / Volunteers

We have already had some lovely support from local business, and we will need much more as our journey continues.

We will be reaching our for fundraising, sponsorship, for services from building, maintenance, to legal, to training, to education.

Volunteers will also become increasing important as we progress to.

The list is endless!

We'd love to hear how you think you can help, so please just drop us an email via our Contact Us page, or join the supporters newsletter.

Be A User of The Centre

Unfortunately the centre was closed back in 2021, and the main building has fallen into disrepair.

Our plan, once we have had permission from BCP to take on the centre is to get the centre operational as quickly as possible, and build up the facilities and activities that we can run,

So unfortunately, aside from some existing user groups, the centre remains closed.

As soon as we can share news of how you can use the centre we will do so.
